Let’s just be honest – whenever a Ferrari makes an appearance it commands attention. And when it’s Ferrari’s touring flagship storming the scene you can’t help but notice – especially when it’s a beautifully customized model like this one. Regular visitors here know I have a soft spot for exotic cars. This one, though, can be considered art in and of itself and alone could define the term “exotic automobile”. Here’s why:
The paint color on this particular example is called Bianco Fuji, and frankly looks like Ferrari dipped the Pininfarina body in a lake of moonlight. There are two reasons you’ve probably never heard of this color. The first reason is that this is considered an “out of range” color. That means it does not appear on the standard list of options and was custom ordered. The other reason is that to replicate this color will tack on another $30,000 to the cost of your 612. It also takes the factory six months to apply this custom paint.
In person, the color is absolutely stunning. I’ve never seen a color quite like this ever before. When I saw it I couldn’t stop staring, even with the brand new 458 Italia sitting 20ft away. Trust me, neither would you.
But the paint isn’t the only thing special on this particular car.
The customization list takes up almost an entire column on the window sticker. It certainly doesn’t look like anything was left out. Everything from performance enhancing options like the GTC handling package to custom interior bits (alcantara in place of carpet, hand embroidered prancing horses in the headrests, Daytona style seats, just for a few examples) is present and accounted for. The interior is a gorgeous shade of saddle leather that offsets the exterior paint in a very classy manner, and also goes nicely with the golden colored brake hardware hiding within the polished wheels. Also lurking within the recesses of the wheels are carbon ceramic brakes, ready to harness on demand all of the 540hp that the V-12 can produce.
Bottom line: this is one of the most stunning cars – not to mention Ferrari’s – that I’ve ever seen, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing some truly spectacular ones. However, the $391,000 sticker sitting on the front window will pretty much ensure that these images that I took are as close as I’ll get to owning it for myself.
Note: I’d like to personally thank David Accorsi and Dan Kizner of Cauley Ferrari for allowing me close access to all of the amazing machines at their dealership and providing much of the information for this writing.
This is very rare, but I guess sometimes we have to pay the price for it.
