Demonstration

This image was captured as the Canadian Navy was doing a demonstration run over the Detroit River. People go to air shows for one thing – excitement. Seeing true professionals perform is always exciting.

Here the pilots were doing close formation runs. The sun was just poking through the clouds to illuminate the yellow paint of the planes and the smoke trails left as they flew over. When this image was captured, the pilots were banked in a turn, coming back over the Detroit skyline. It created the added bonus of looking like we were right next to them in the air. It’s a rare shot, and by far has been one of my most awarded images.

Offered in 14″x 10″ size for $325. Please see Ordering Art Prints for further details, or click the button below to process your order through Etsy.

Note – this picture was awarded as Photo of the Day by Light and Composition Magazine and also appears in the 2011 Comerica Bank corporate calendar.
